Barlow's home run lifts Newburyport softball


Newburyport 3, North Andover 1

Casey Barlow hit a game-winning, two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to lift the Clippers in their season-opener. Barlow was 3 for 3. Kendra Dow played a solid defensive game at shortstop, according to coach Lori Solazzo. Victoria Allman earned the win, recording nine strikeouts.

Girls Lacrosse

Georgetown 18, Triton 17

Grace Ann Conti had five goals and two assists for Georgetown. Chelsea Burke added five goals and one assist. Marisa Agganis tallied four goals and an assist. Madeline Cannon and Kathryn Gibb scored two goals each. Cassidy Troy added an assist.

For Triton, Nickie Sullivan scored six goals. Kaitlyn Muldowney had five goals and an assist. Meghan Muldowney added four goals. Meg Hickey scored one goal.
