Pentucket softball team drops opener

Sydney Snow (3 for 5) and Mary Kate Corrado (2 for 4) had multi-hit games for Pentucket.

Manchester Essex 19, Georgetown 9

Chelsea Burke led Georgetown with three goals and an assist. Grace Ann Conte scored three goals. Madeline Cannon had two goals and an assist. Marisa Agganis added a goal and an assist.

Triton 14, Greater Lowell 6

Emma Cashman made six saves in net for Triton (1-3). Nickie Sullivan scored three goals. Meghan and Kaitlyn Muldowney scored two goals each. Courtney Brown, Meg Hickey, Ali Sorroy, Maddie Quinley, Teresa Baniont, Lilly Dow and Jess Greeney also scored goals for the Vikings.


Georgetown 6, North Shore Tech 2

The defending Division 4 state-champion Royals opened the season with a win thanks to five strong innings from pitcher Jeff Moore, who did not allow an earned run. He struck out eight batters, allowed two hits and issued four walks. Patrick Slack was 3 for 4 with two runs and an RBI. Colby Ingraham was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Ben Noelk was 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI.
