Thirkell, Marino score goals to lift Port

Newburyport 2, Rockport 1

Freshman Olivia Thirkell and junior Caroline Marino scored goals for Newburyport (5-3-1). Carly Siemasko had an assist.

Manchester Essex 2, Pentucket 0

Pentucket (1-5-4) played its “best game of the season,” according to coach Ruth Beaton. Liza Brackbill was outstanding in the game against the undefeated Hornets (7-0-2).

Amesbury 4, Hamilton-Wenham 0

Audra Tamburello scored two goals for Amesbury (3-5). Amanda Schell added a goal and two assists. Maddie Severance also scored a goal. Melissa Knowlton had an assist. Kiara Loh was outstanding at right midfield.

Boys Soccer

Triton 2, Ipswich 1

Jake Papanicolaou and Jason Tidmarsh scored goals for Triton. Eric Ninthala had an assist. Khalil Brito and Jared DiNatale ignited the offense.
