Gagnon's hat trick lifts Amesbury

Amesbury 5, North Reading 2

Amesbury coach Bethany Noseworthy found some playing time for underclassman Kate Gagnon, and the player rewarded the coach with three second-half goals. The Indians (4-6) trailed 2-1 at halftime. Ali Debasitis had a goal and two assists for Amesbury. Maddie Severance added a goal and an assist. Amanda Schell had two assists. Audra Tambourello, Melissa Knowlton and Gagnon also had assists.

Pentucket 3, Georgetown 1

Tayla Racca, Liza Brackbill and Erin Mikson scored goals for Pentucket. Tori Ruggerio played well on defense.


Triton 160, Rockport 95

Jon Seward and Adam Chatterton scored 28 points each for Triton (11-2). Brett Greenberg added 27. Kyle Hillick (26), Mike Shea (26) and Brad Small (25) rounded out the scoring.

Newburyport 154, Pentucket 118

Brendan Crowther led Newburyport (7-2) with 32 points. Kyle Bushnell (31), Travis Koocher (26), Griffin Brown (24), Ben Ventura (22) and Steven Simkins (19) rounded out the scoring for the Clippers.

Krystal Knight led Pentucket (2-7) with 26 points. Dan Beaton (24), Brendan Daniels (21) and Mitch Murray (17) also chipped in for Pentucket.

Girls Soccer

Governor’s Academy 3, Phillips Exeter 2

Kendall Ham had a hat trick for the Govs (4-0-1). Alex Curran-Cardarelli had two assists. Erica Merullo added one.

Triton 3, Manchester Essex 0

Shannon Dube scored two goals for Triton (3-4-2) on Tuesday night. Morgan Snow also added a goal. Christine Ciccone had her fourth shutout of the season.

Boys Cross-Country

Newburyport 21, Masconomet 36

Nick Carleo paced the undefeated Clippers (7-0) with a first-place finish in 15:56. Chris Orlando (3rd, 17:00), Joe Molvar (4th, 17:01), Max Vye (5th, 17:26) and Tim Englehart (8th, 17:48) rounded out the scoring for Newburyport.

Girls Cross-Country

Masconomet 21, Newburyport 34

Kelly Conway (3rd, 21:05) had the top finish for the Clippers (5-2). Kristen Mackie (4th, 21:07), Maria Sterling (8th, 21:36), Rachel Haley (9th, 21:39) and Lily Eagan (10th, 21:59) also placed in the top 10 for Newburyport.
