---- — BILLERICA — The Triton girls soccer team is evidently not ready to puts its historic season in the books.

The 11th-seeded Vikings (10-7-3) advanced to the Division 3 North semifinals yesterday with another 1-0 upset victory — this time against third-seeded Shawsheen Tech (12-4-3). The Vikings also upset sixth-seeded Swampscott by a score of 1-0 on Saturday.

Triton, making its first state-tournament appearance in the program’s 35-year history, will meet second-seeded Lynnfield (15-2-2) tomorrow at 5 p.m. at Manning Field in Lynn.

In yesterday’s victory, Shawsheen scored on itself early in the second half due to the pressure of the Triton offensive attack. Beatrice Donahue played well in the midfield for the Vikings, as did Teresa Benoit and Nikki Hepp.

Christine Ciccone posted her second shutout in the tournament.

“The Vikings are hitting their stride as they head into the semifinals,” said first-year Triton coach Michael Weisberg. “It will be a very good match under the lights at Manning Field.”
