NHS Boosters Fundraiser
Oregano Pizzeria and Ristorante has offered to donate a percentage of all proceeds from Wednesday, April 9, toward the Newburyport High School Boosters. Starting at 7 p.m., the Boosters will hold a live auction at the restaurant for a baseball signed by David Ortiz. If you can’t make it out for dinner that night, the proceeds from takeout will count too.
Nor’easters baseball will hold registration at Eiras Park in Rowley on April 13 from 5 to 6 p.m. Workouts and assessments will be on April 27, May 4, 11 and 18. All players will be placed on the Sr. Legion, Jr. Legion and Sr. Babe Ruth teams in the area. Eligible players are high school players born 1995 or after. Players must live in the Amesbury, Georgetown, Ipswich, Newburyport, Pentucket and Triton school districts. Rage Wrestling begins April 14. Sessions will be held on Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. (for 4th- to 7th-graders) and 6:30 to 8 p.m. (for 8th- to 12th-graders). The program’s goal is to educate and develop competitive wrestlers in grades 4-12. Club participants develop fundamentals of wrestling, good sportsmanship, honesty and respect for their coaches and fellow teammates. The Salisbury Parks and Recreation Commission is holding its The Tortoise and Hare 10K Race on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Lions Park in Salisbury. The race also features a Kids Fun Run, a Kids 1-mile race prior to the start of the race and a 3-Mile walk that will start as soon as the runners are jogging down the Ghost Trail. The post-race includes music, popcorn, kids games and a fun run for children. To register, go to active.com.
