NHS Boosters Fundraiser
Oregano Pizzeria and Ristorante has offered to donate a percentage of all proceeds from tonight toward the Newburyport High School Boosters. Starting at 7 p.m., the Boosters will hold a live auction at the restaurant for a baseball signed by David Ortiz. If you can’t make it out for dinner that night, the proceeds from takeout will count too.
A nine-week running camp for beginners to train for the Lt. Derek Hines 5K Flag Day race on June 14 will begin this Saturday, April 12 at 8 a.m. at the Fuller Field Track on Low Street. There is no charge for this program, which is coached Nancy McCarthy and Sue Hines. Participants will meet each Saturday morning and again on Wednesday evening. The program only takes about 20 minutes three times a week. The Salisbury Parks and Recreation Commission is holding its The Tortoise and Hare 10K Race on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Lions Park in Salisbury. The race also features a Kids Fun Run, a Kids 1-mile race prior to the start of the race and a 3-Mile walk that will start as soon as the runners are jogging down the Ghost Trail. The post-race includes music, popcorn, kids games and a fun run for children. To register, go to active.com.
Nor’easters baseball will hold registration at Eiras Park in Rowley on April 13 from 5 to 6 p.m. Workouts and assessments will be on April 27, May 4, 11 and 18. All players will be placed on the Sr. Legion, Jr. Legion and Sr. Babe Ruth teams in the area. Eligible players are high school players born 1995 or after.
