Ukraine team to play at The Governor's Academy
The New Hampshire Eagles will be hosting a select pee-wee team from the Ukraine tomorrow (6:30 p.m.) at The Governor's Academy.
Team Ukraine 97 is part of the organization, DRUZHBA 78, which is coached by Ivan Pravilov, the founder of the program. Three members of Pravilov's teams currently play in the NHL, most notably Danius Zubrus of the New Jersey Devils.
The players stay with host families while traveling in the United States. The host families typically donate hockey equipment to help relieve the organization's financial burden.
Team Ukraine will continue on to Canada to compete in the Quebec International Peewee Hockey Tournament Feb. 11-21. The tournament is the largest hockey event in the world, attracting teams from 16 different countries and over 200,000 fans every year.
The Eagles will be collecting old hockey equipment, jerseys, sweatshirts, etc. and will be making a goodwill donation to the Ukraine team immediately following the game. Please bring equipment donations to the rink tomorrow evening.

Derek Freeman and Billy Boudreau had one each. The Clippers were 2-0 against Lynnfield on the season, slipping a total of eight goals past All-Cape Ann League goalie Craig Cataldo.
"We stressed tips, screens and rebounds," Newburyport coach Paul Yameen said. "To get five past that kid is a good effort."

Triton blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter as the Vikes went on a dry spell at the wrong time. North Reading 55, Georgetown 40
Kristin Hogan (15 points) and Morgan Gott (11 points) each scored in double figures, but Georgetown struggled to score in the second against North Reading's height.

In as long as former coach Bill Pettingell was leading the Clipper charge, some eight and a half seasons, Malenfant was alongside him, serving as the team's volunteer assistant coach. -

Georgetown's Shores readying for marathon
GEORGETOWN — Georgetown High School senior Dan Shores has never worried about wins and losses throughout his cross country career.
Shortly after joining the team as a seventh-grader in 2005, he learned his enjoyment and the team's winning percentage would have to be mutually exclusive. The Royals have posted a combined record of 3-52 in his five seasons with the team. - A 5K family
