Newburyport one win away from undefeated season

Boys Track

Newburyport 69, Lynnnfield 17

Newburyport freshman Alex Reduker won two events -- the high hurdles (6.23) and high jump (5-8). Jared Healey (dash, 5.07), Steve Preston (shot put, 49-5), Chris Orlando (2-mile, 11:00), J.J. Bajko (300, 43.7), Sawyer Updike (600, 1:38.8), James Nutter (1,000, 3:05.6) and Gabe Ficht (mile, 5:16) also won individual events for the Clippers (7-0).

Girls Track

Newburyport 62, Lynnfield 23

The Clippers improved to 5-3. Liz Fiascone (high hurdles, 6.27), Birgitta Glaser (high jump, 4-4), Kelly Conway (2-mile, 12:28), Katie Gorenflo (300, 48.7), Merri Adsit (shot put, 31-4), Bella Palma (600, 1:53), Olivia Kearney (1,000, 3:43) and Erin Carroll (mile, 6:03.3) won individual events for the Clippers.

Girls Basketball

Newburyport 55, Amesbury 41

Mary Pettigrew led Newburyport (5-5) with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Lilly Donovan and Lea Tomasz had 11 points each. Emily Pettigrew added nine.

Pentucket 56, Manchester Essex 43

Tess Nogueira led Pentucket (12-0) with 21 points. Coley Viselli added 12. Alex Moore had 8.

Boys Basketball

Triton 65, Rockport 57

Sam McKenzie had 19 points and 20 rebounds for Triton (6-5). Paul Dacy had 16 points. Connor Barry scored 15. The Vikings shot 14 of 15 from the free throw line.
