Four Triton, three Pentucket wrestlers advance to All-States

Division 3 Championships

Pentucket’s Tom Funk (120 lbs.) and Josh Wesolowski (132 lbs.) had the area’s best performances at the Division 3 Championships in Wakefield. Both athletes placed third in their respective weight classes. Funk has 131 career wins. Wesolowski lost to the eventual state champion by two points in the semifinals.

Triton’s Victor Ramirez (120 lbs.) and Mark Boyle (160 lbs.) both placed fourth in their respective weight classes. Ramirez now has 122 career victories. Boyle has 105.

Pentucket’s Jeff Funk placed fifth at 145 pounds. He now has 115 career victories. Triton’s John Boyle (126 lbs.) and Luke Boyle (138 lbs.) both placed sixth. Luke Boyle now has 107 career victories.

All of the previously listed wrestlers qualified for the All-State Championships Friday and Saturday at Salem High. Pentucket also earned the Division 3 Sportsmanship Award.

Girls Basketball

Pentucket 54, Hamilton-Wenham 40

On Senior Night at Pentucket, the Sachems honored Alex Moore, Coley Viselli, Emily Dresser and Tess Nogueira. That group has led Pentucket to victories in 49 of its last 51 games. Kelsi McNamara led the Sachems with 14 points. Coley Viselli, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark last week, added 13. McKenna Kilian scored 10. Nogueira tallied 11 points and 14 rebounds.
