Georgetown High alumnus Niko Edwards was named Athlete of the Week at Hebron Academy after leading the football team to a season-opening victory over Tilton. Edwards, a quarterback and defensive back, completed 8 of 12 passes for 128 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 52 yards. On defense, Edwards led the Lumberjacks with seven tackles and a fumble recovery.

NHS Wall of Fame

The Newburyport Wall of Fame has announced its 2013 induction class. The banquet will be held November 7 at the Newburyport Elks Club. Tickets are $35 each, and may be purchased at the Park Lunch, Newburyport High, or by contacting Tom Smolski at 978-361-7635. No tickets will be sold at the door. The class includes:

Bradley Fuller

Fuller served on the Newburyport School Committee from 1938 to 1989. He was one of the founding members of the Booster Club and a lifelong member (‘44 to ‘89). He was dedicated to the public schools and a supporter of all athletics.

Daniel “Francis” Sullivan

The three-sport athlete graduated in 1934. As a football player, he was an excellent runner, tackler and blocker. He earned five varsity letters.

David E. Fournier

The three-sport athlete graduated in 1978. He earned eight varsity letters spread across football, hockey and baseball. He was an EMass. Super Bowl champion in 1976, a Cape Ann League football champion in ‘76 and ‘77, and a Harry Agganis All-Star in 1978.

Michael E. O’Connor

This 1981 graduate played football for three years and football for four. He was a captain of the baseball team as a senior. He was later drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1984.

Vicky Kelleher Connor

A 1987 graduate, Connor earned 12 varsity letters — four each in soccer and basketball, and two each in track and field and softball. She was a Daily News All-Star four times in soccer, twice in basketball and twice in softball. She led the CAL in hitting as a senior (.621).

Michael Rymsha

A 1991 graduate, Rymsha was the 1990 Cape Ann League Player of the Year in football. He also captained the basketball and baseball teams as a senior, and was a three-year starter in both sports.
