Port cross-country teams sweep tri-meets

Girls Cross-Country

Newburyport 20, Pentucket 41

Newburyport 15, Georgetown 50

Pentucket 15, Georgetown 48

The Clippers improved to 7-2 with the sweep. Kristen Mackie (1st, 21:01), Kelly Conway (3rd, 21:14), Rachel Haley (4th, 21:17), Maria Sterling (5th, 21:16) and Olivia Kearney (7th, 21:37) collaborated on the victory for Newburyport.

For Pentucket (6-3), Kasey Mann (2nd, 21:06), Emma Marchant (6th, 21:32), Kelsi McNamara (12th, 22:25), Jordan Balletto (13th, 22:38) and Sophie Capobianco (14th, 22:39) earned a win against Georgetown.

Triton 23, Ipswich 34

Triton 18, Saugus 45

The Vikings (5-4) have their first winning record of the season with the sweep. Sophomore Maddie Quigley collected her first overall victory (20:14) in cross-country. Liz Willmonton, Ceili Riccio (5th, 21:40), Nikki Sullivan (7th, 22:04) and Audrey Martin (9th, 22:27) rounded out the scoring for the Vikings.

The Clippers (9-0) remained undefeated with the sweep. Nick Carleo (1st, 16:45), Joe Molvar (2nd, 16:48), Tyler Newfell (4th, 17:10), Max Vye (5th, 17:11) and Tim Englehart (7th, 17:15) factored in the scoring for Newburyport at Georgetown High.

Alex Demeule (3rd, 16:51), Drew Kapener (6th, 17:12), Sam Coppola (8th, 17:17), Jeremy Binding (16th, 18:15) and Nate Hey (18th, 18:24) rounded out the scoring for Pentucket (6-3).

Triton 27, Saugus 32

Ipswich 25, Triton 30

The Vikings (1-8) picked up their first win of the season in the tri-meet. Austin Stevens (2nd, 17:47), Curran Callewaert (7th, 18:27), Ryan Sheedy (10th, 18:33), Dan Horgan (11th, 18:35) and Ryan Kent (12th, 18:46) rounded out the scoring.

Boys Soccer

Lynnfield 1, Newburyport 1

Adam Traxler scored the goal for Newburyport (3-8-1). Matt Cote played a solid game in the midfield.

Triton 5, Amesbury 3

The Vikings (7-3-1) ran their unbeaten streak to seven games. Khalil Brito, Niko Marcolini, Jake Papanicolaou, Jared DiNatale and Luke Reiniger scored goals for Triton. Papanicolaou, Josh Brown, Marcolini, Sam Wright and DiNatale had assists. Peter Stacy and Joe Simon played well for Triton.


Triton 168, Danvers 122

Triton’s Kyle Hillick shot even-par at Ould Newbury for 36 points. Mike Shea (30 points), Jon Seward (27), Brett Greenberg (26) and Brad Small (25) also contributed for the CAL Large champion Vikings (14-2).

Amesbury 145, Georgetown 99

Patrick and Fred Halloran had 28 points each for Amesbury (9-4). Anthony Tomkiewicz added 25. Dan Logan (23) and Lowell Deschenes (22) rounded out the scoring for the Indians.

Girls Soccer

Governor’s Academy 2, Middlesex 0

Tricia Pollock and Eric Merullo scored goals for the Govs (6-0-1 overall, 4-0-1 ISL). Katie Barrand and Jackie Ham had assists.
