Runner of the Year
Carleo was the first Newburyport male in school history to collect an individual Division 2 All-State Championship. The junior had the fastest time of any runner in the state at All-States. He cites his father, Tom Carleo, as his role model.
The All-CAL selection maintains a 4.6 GPA. The highlight of his season came when he placed 25th at the CAL Championships in 17:21. He placed second among Pentucket runners at the Division 5 Championships in 17:27. He cites teammate Sam Coppola as his role model.
Conway won the Cape Ann League JV Championship with a time of 17:26 at Bradley Palmer. His season highlight was being part of the Division 5 championship team in Wrentham. He maintains a 4.4 GPA and cites coach Don Hennigar and NBA star Allen Iverson as his role models.
Coppola was named Pentucket’s Most Improved Runner. The All-CAL selection had a personal best 5K time of 17:17. He placed 42nd overall at the Division 5 Championships in 17:30.2. He cites teammate Alex Demeule as his role model.
The All-CAL selection maintains a 4.0 GPA. His highlight of the season came when he placed 52nd at the All-State Championships in 15:53.8. Pentucket’s top runner cites teammate Drew Capener as his role model.
The CAL All-Star maintains a 3.9 GPA. His season highlight came when he finished sixth at the Division 5 Championships in 16:34.7 in Wrentham. He placed 90th at the All-State Championships in 16:14.83. He cites pro runner Evan Jager as his role model.
Molvar placed ninth at the CAL Championships in 16:38 at Bradley Palmer. The highlight of his season when the Clippers won the Division 5 Championships, a meet in which he placed eighth overall in 16:36. He hopes to attend UMass Lowell.
