Amesbury’s Katie Hathaway was named MVP of the USA Rugby National Division 2 Championship.
Katie Hathaway finished off her college experience at Norwich University by achieving every goal she'd set over the previous four years.
In December, she captained the Norwich women's rugby team to a Division 2 Collegiate National Sevens title. Earlier this month, she captained Norwich to a Division National College championship in Palo, Alto, Calif. After her final collegiate competition, Hathaway was named MVP of the tournament.
A rebuilding Georgetown softball team hung with the class of the River Rival Region for five innings in Amesbury yesterday.
But the Indians, who almost always find a way to win, pulled it out with a sixth-inning home run from Erin Leary that sent the Royals home empty-handed 4-2.

Trav's Trail Run is showing no signs of slowing down 12 years into the annual Newburyport tradition.
Historically known for drawing some the fastest fields of any race in the Newburyport area, yesterday's 12th annual Trav's Trail Run was no exception.
