Alex Moore had 12 points for Pentucket (9-0). Tess Nogueira added nine. Georgetown’s Kristin Hogan led her team with eight points.
Boys Basketball
Masconomet 49, Amesbury 48
Masconomet sealed its victory with a last-second shot, erasing a 48-47 Amesbury lead. The Indians (5-3) were led by Curran O’Connor, who had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Devlin Gobeil added nine points and nine rebounds. Kyle Arseneau and Grant Bellino added nine points each. Amesbury outscored Masconomet 44-35 after the first quarter.
Newburyport 38, Ipswich 26
Dillon Guthro led Newburyport (5-2) with 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Ian Michaels added nine points and assists. Colt Fontaine tallied eight points and 19 rebounds.
Pentucket 58, Georgetown 48
Jake Chory scored 15 points for the Sachems (2-5). Jake Bordeianu added 14. Calvin Wiles had 13 points. Georgetown’s Matt Gott led his team with 24 points.
Lynnfield 74, Triton 73 OT
Sam McKenzie led Triton (4-4) with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Zak Alaoui had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Vikings. Paul Dacy had 14 points and seven assists.
Wrestling
Triton 30, malden 15
Luke Boyle (138 lbs.), Jesse Caldwell (145 lbs.), Nate Eastabrook (152 lbs.) and Clay Bruneau (195 lbs.) recorded pins for Triton (9-3-1 overall, 1-1 CAL). John Boyle (126 lbs.) won by decision 11-5. Mark Boyle (170 lbs.) beat one of the top 160-pounders in the state, Jean Geden, by decision 6-5.
Governor’s Academy 45, Thayer Academy 24
Eli Morrissey (170 lbs.), Michael Dik (132 lbs.) and Ben Azarovitz (113 lbs.) recorded pins for the Govs. Mike Gallagher (heavyweight) posted an 8-3 decision. Brian Kang, Ryan Leary, George Geike and Dan Choi won by forfeit.
Girls Indoor Track
Govs place second in quad-meet
The Governor’s Academy placed second behind Phillips Andover in a quad meet that also include Hyde of Maine and Wilbraham and Monson. Mackenzie Gray won the high jump and long jump for the Govs. Katie Hanlon won the mile.
Boys Indoor Track
Govs tie for second in quad meet
The Govs tied Hyde of Maine in a quad meet, falling short of first-place Phillips Andover. Wilbraham and Monson placed fourth. E.J. Connor won the mile for the Govs.
Ice Hockey
Amesbury 4, Lynnfield 1
J.T. Chamberlain led the Indians (6-3-0 overall, 3-2-0 CAL) with two goals and an assist. Ben Clifford and Zach Fitzgerald also scored goals. Tabor Smith collected three assists. Andy Reidy and Brad Kelleher had assists. Evan King made 16 saves.
