Port falls to Ipswich despite 18 points from Pettigrew sisters

Ipswich 52, Newburyport 40

Freshman Emily Pettigrew led Newburyport (3-5) with 10 points. She was 4 of 5 from the free throw line. Her sister, Mary Pettigrew, added eight points. Aly Leahy, Lea Tomasz and Lilly Donovan scored six points each. Ipswich led 19-14 at halftime.

Ice Hockey

North Reading 6, Pentucket 4

Tom Pingree scored two goals for Pentucket (4-4-1 overall, 2-3-0 CAL). Zach Graham and Joe Mangano scored one goal each. Ian Mitchell had two assists. Bob Hallowell, John Orlando and Patrick Slack had assists. Samantha Bomba made 26 saves.
