Newburyport boys indoor track team remains undefeated

Boys Indoor Track

Newburyport 50, Triton 36

Newburyport 49, Masconomet 37

Jared Healey (dash, 5.4), Joe Santo (2-mile, 10:09), Steve Preston (shot put, 47-5), James Nutter (600, 1:20.9), Nick Carleo (1,000), Chris Orlando (mile, 4:54), Alex Reduker (high jump, 5-8), Dan Holbrook (300) and Newburyport’s 4x400 relay (3:51.8) of Chance Carpenter, Sam Stansel, Holbrook and Healey placed first for the Clippers (6-0).

Manchester Essex 48, Amesbury 38

North Reading 62, Amesbury 24

Perry Mroz won the dash and hurdles for Amesbury (2-3). Nick Fiorella (hurdles) and Ben Cullen (600) also placed first for the Indians.

Girls Indoor Track

Newburyport 53, Triton 33

Masconomet 50, Newburyport 36

Katie Gorenflo (dash, 6.4), Merri Adsit (shot put, 31-11), Amanda Kenney (300, 48.2), Bella Palma (600, 1:38.3), Kelly Conway (mile, 5:51), Liz Fiascone (high hurdles, 7.7), Erin Carroll (2-mile, 12:41) and the 4x400 relay team of Gorenflo, Becca Speak, Kenney and Palma placed first for the Clippers (4-3).

Amesbury 46, Manchester Essex 36

North Reading 64, Amesbury 22

Annalise Dechenes won the hurdles and high jump for Amesbury (1-5). Genielou Brogan (dash), Natalie Dawes (1,000) and Marissa Randall (shot put) also placed first.

Wrestling

Pentucket 46, Greater Lowell Tech 36

Tom Funk (120 lbs.), Mike Sullivan (126 lbs.), Josh Wesolowski (132 lbs.), Jeff Funk (145 lbs.), Brett Connelly (152 lbs.), Mike McCarron (180 lbs.) and Sean Clohisy (195 lbs.) won by fall for Pentucket (10-7). Kevin Clark (138 lbs.) won by major decision 13-4.
