Amesbury, Triton still in hunt for tourney

Boys Basketball

Amesbury 58,

Georgetown 55

Amesbury (8-9) will play a win-and-get-in game at Rockport tomorrow night for a trip to the state tournament. The Indians kept their hopes alive last night with a victory over Georgetown (4-13). Tommy Connors led the Indians with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Grant Bellino added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Curran O’Connor had 11 points and six rebounds. Kyle Arseaneau scored 10 points. Pat Halloran was Amesbury’s distributor with four points, four rebounds and eight assists.

Triton 62, Masconomet 40

Triton (8-10) will need wins in its final two games — against North Reading and Lynnfield — to qualify for the state tournament. Sam McKenzie led the Vikings to their victory last night with 20 points and 11 rebounds. He hit six 3-pointers. Paul Dacy had 13 points and 10 assists. Zak Alaoui added 11 points and five steals. Ellsworth Rogers scored 10 points. Connor Barry had seven points and 12 rebounds.

Newburyport 61,

Pentucket 38

Colt Fontaine had 23 points and 17 rebounds for the Clippers (11-6). Ian Michaels added 12 points. Dillon Guthro tallied nine points and 10 rebounds. Colby Morris played a solid floor game, according to coach Tom L’Italien. Pentucket’s Calvin Wiles had 16 points. Jake Khouri added 11 points for the Sachems (6-11).

Girls Basketball

Masconomet 70, Triton 17

Harley Wood had six points and six rebounds for Triton (1-17). Nicole Sullivan and Amanda Colpitts added four points each.
