Rams trample Beverly, move on to ITL finals

The Rowley Rams punched their ticket to the Intertown League finals in Beverly Tuesday night, taking down the Giants 15-6. The Rams scored six runs in the second inning, two in the fourth, five in the fifth and two in the sixth. Dmitri Hunt scored four runs, stole two bases and had two RBI’s. CJ Ingraham scored three runs, stole two bases and had two RBIs. Koby Thibault had three hits and three RBI’s while Joe White hit a pair of doubles.

Starting pitcher Nick Liguori went four innings with four strikeouts and gave up two earned runs to record the win. Joe Martin went three innings with two strikeouts, and two earned runs to record the save.

“We had a great series offensively against Beverly,” said Rams’ coach Jeff Wood. “Facing Manchester/Essex in the finals will be tough. They’re the No. 1 seed and have won four of the last five championships. We need to be sharp for a full seven innings each game if we want to compete.”

The Rams will meet Manchester/Essex on Friday.
