PENTUCKET

Head coach: John McNamara (7th season)

Last year’s record: 23-4 (Division 3 state champ)

Returning players: Coley Viselli, sr.; Alex Moore, sr.; Tess Nogueira, sr.; Emily Dresser, sr.; Sydney Snow, jr.; McKenna Kilian, so.; Kelsi McNamara, so.; Sarah Wiles, so.

Newcomers: Kassidy Kennefick, so.; Madeline Torrisi, so.; Riley Holden, fr.; Caroline Modlish, fr.; Taylor Moore, fr.; Hannah Hollow, fr.; Rebecca Torrisi, fr.

Team strengths: Three returning seniors that have been to state title game twice.

Team concerns: Replace two senior starters that were captains and four seniors that were heart and soul of team.

Coach’s outlook: “Our goal every year is to win the Cape Ann League championship, with new league format we play everyone in our divison twice, so there’s more emphasis on the league 15 games. And we want to be primed and ready to go for the state tournament. I think we have the experience to do that, you have to be lucky and good to have a deep run.”

First game: Friday at Masconomet (6:30 p.m.)

NEWBURYPORT

Head coach: Gregg Dollas (3rd season)

Last year’s record: 14-8

Returning players: Lea Tomasz, sr.; Mary Adsit, sr.; Rebecca Kell, sr.; Casey Barlow, sr.; Jenna Wayland, sr.; Ali Leahy, jr.; Lilly Donovan, jr.; Mary Pettigrew, jr.

Newcomers: Jaycie Triandafilou, jr.; Amy Sullivan, jr.

Team strengths: Athleticism. Good chemistry.

Team concerns: Still young.

Coach’s outlook: “Our goal is to make the tournament and to make a deep run. I really think we have a team put together to be in every game this year. We have a lot of hard workers, girls that are gamers and dirt-dog-type players.”

First game: Today (6:30 p.m.) vs. Amesbury

TRITON

Head coach: Karen Christian (12th season)

Last year’s record: 4-16

Returning players: Harley Wood, sr.; Alexa Reilly, jr.; Amanda Colpitts, jr.; Erin Volpone, jr.; Hannah Canning, so.; Rachel Williamson, so.

Team strengths: Cohesion.

Team concerns: Experience. Size.

Coach’s outlook: “As long as the girls continue to bring their positive attitudes and willingness to work each day, we will continue to improve each game.”

GEORGETOWN

Head coach: Dave Tucker (4th season)

Last year’s record: 12-12

Team strengths: Experience. Speed. Great leadership.

Team concerns: Getting defenses installed prior to the first game.

Coach’s outlook: “We will have a strong, quick, defensive team that will create offense from pressuring the ball. We will use speed and experience to our advantage and look forward to another successful season with a tough league and non-league schedule.”

First game: Tomorrow (7 p.m.) vs. Medford

AMESBURY

Head coach: Chris Perry (23rd year)

Last year’s record: 1-18
