Defending state-champion Pentucket opens with win

Girls Basketball

Pentucket 45, Masconomet 33

Coley Viselli led defending state-champion Pentucket with 17 points and nine rebounds. Tess Nogueira added 11 points. Alex Moore scored 10.

Hamilton-Wenham 59,

Triton 26

Kaitlyn Muldowney led Triton (0-2) with eight points. Christine Ciccone added seven. Amanda Colpitts had five.

Newburyport 44,

North Reading 39

The Clippers (2-0) were led by Aly Leahy, who had 11 points. four rebounds and three steals. Emily Pettigrew added 10 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Lilly Donovan added seven points, four rebounds and four steals.

Georgetown 68,

Rockport 23

Marissa Agganis had 27 points, 13 steals and five rebounds for Georgetown (1-1). Kristin Hogan added 24 points and five steals. Ali Newbury had eight points and 12 rebounds.

Boys Basketball

Triton 36,

Hamilton-Wenham 30

Zak Alaoui had 10 points for Triton (2-0). Paul Dacy added 10 and seven rebounds. Sam McKenzie and Conor Barry had seven each.

Rockport 57,

Georgetown 53

Joey Torgerson scored 15 points for Georgetown. Patrick Bjork added 11. The Royals were 6 for 19 from the free throw line.
