Newburyport softball team blanks Saugus

Lauren Singer, Megan Stanton, Lea Tomasz and Casey Barlow had two hits each for the Clippers (2-0).

Methuen 18, Pentucket 0

Sydney Snow and Nicole O’Rourke had the lone hits for Pentucket (0-2).

Girls Lacrosse

North Andover 10, Newburyport 7

Meri Adsit scored three goals for Newburyport (2-1). Livie Couturier added two. Kate McCauley and Kelly Conway scored one each. Carly Kouvaris made 12 saves in goal.

Boys Tennis

Amesbury 3, Newburyport 2

Grant Bellino (6-2, 6-3) won a singles match for Amesbury. Josh Edy and Tim Dwight (6-1, 6-4) won at first doubles. Chris Zalinsky and Sam Sringis won in three sets (6-2, 2-6, 6-1). Newburyport’s Chris Kirkpatrick and James Kipp won singles matches.

Ipswich 3, Triton 2

John DiDonato (6-0, 6-1) and Travis Mihalchik (7-6, 1-6, 6-3) won singles matches for Triton (1-1).

Girls Tennis

Amesbury 3, Newburyport 2

Amesbury’s Stephanie Abraham (6-1, 5-7, 6-0) and Madison Padgett (6-0, 6-2) won singles matches. Olivia King and Jill Hadwen clinched the Indians’ victory with a win (6-4, 6-2) at first doubles.

Boys Lacrosse

Triton 10, Ipswich 7

Paul Dacy had four goals and two assists for Triton (1-2). Matt Kelly added four goals and an assist. Larry Cuddy had five assists. Freshman goalie Nolan Smith made 16 saves.

Girls Track

Newburyport 90 1/2, Lynnfield 54 1/2

Lily Eagan won two events for Newburyport — the 400 hurdles (1:11.1) and 400 (1:05.7). Liza Twomey also won two events — the 100 (13.4) and 200 (28.3). Alex Edwards (shot put, 27-0), Alex Muise (javelin, 86-5), Katie Gorenflo (pole vault, 8-2), Rachel Haley (800, 2:40), the 4x100 relay team of Hannah Sheehy, Becca Speak, Birgitta Glaser and Katie Gorenflo, and the 4x400 team of Kristin Mackie, Erin Carroll, Michelle Thibeault and Sheehy placed first.

Pentucket 80, North Reading 65

Chase Marcott won two events for Pentucket — the triple jump (33-4 1/2) and long jump (15-9 1/4). McKenna Kilian won the high jump (4-10) and 400. Erin Sullivan (javelin, 89-6), Ali Attenasio (vault, 8-6), Marissa Porter (mile, 5:43.3), the 4x100 relay of Ali Attenasio, Marisa Lundy, Colleen Kilian and Haley Collins, and the 4x400 relay team of Carolyn Modlish, McKenna Kilian, Paige Wesolowski and Porter also won events.

Amesbury 95, Triton 49

Marisa Randall broke Amesbury’s school records in the shot put (33-7) and discus (90-2). Emily Martin won the triple jump (32-8 1/4) and 400 hurdles (1:13.4). Isabel Prussman (long jump, 15-1), Amanda Martin (high jump, 4-8), Mackenzie Roberts (high hurdles, 18.7), Julia Shorter (mile, 5:32; 800, 2:35.0) and Rachel Dawes (javelin, 81-5) won events for Amesbury.

Boys Track

Newburyport 92, Lynnfield 51

Steve Preston won the shot put (49-0) and discus (142-5) for Newburyport. Dan Holbrook won the long jump (16-11 1/2) and triple jump (37-10). Alex Reduker won the high jump (5-7) and high hurdles (18.1). Tom Graham placed first in the 100 (11.5) and 200 (23.7). Max Vye won the 2-mile (10:50) and 800 (2:14). Nick Carleo (mile, 4:47) and Sam Stansel (400, 57.8) also placed first.

North Reading 100 1/3, Pentucket 44 2/3

Cooper Carifio (100, 11.2) and the 4x400 relay team of Sam Coppola, Jordan Maysonet, Alec Biese and Dan Thornton won events for Pentucket.

Triton 79, Amesbury 66

Perry Mroz (shot put, 52-5), Curran O’Connor (discus, 139-7), Doug Masi (100, 11.7), Jim Stone (mile, 5:08), Bram Robinson (200, 25.2) and Evan King (javelin, 156-0) won individual events for Amesbury.
