Clancy’s record-breaking weekend

Joe Clancy (Newburport High Class of 2009) became the Merrimack College football team’s all-time leader in passing yards after totaling 358 Saturday in a 31-21 road victory over Assumption. Clancy finished 33-for-52 with four touchdowns and a pick; the senior now is first in the Merrimack record books — in just two seasons as a starter — with a program-best 746 completions, 83 touchdowns and 8,797 yards through 36 career games.
