---- — Wall of FameGolf Tournament

Registration for this year’s Wall of Fame Golf Tournament is now underway. The tournament will take place at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Ould Newbury Golf Club in Byfield. The cost of registration is $75 per player with four players per team, and the competition will follow an 18 hole “scramble” format. Each team will receive two golf carts, lunch will be provided after the tournament, and prizes are available for the winners, runners-up and for those who record the longest drive and closest shots on the par-three holes. This year’s tournament is in honor of past president and treasurer Paul Reilly, who passed in February. Triton Regional High School will be hosting a variety of sports camps and clinics over the coming summer. Derek Hines Flag Day 5K

Tomorrow, the 1st Lt. Derek Hines Soldiers Assistance Fund will host its 3rd Annual Flag Day 5k Road Race. The 5K walk, run or jog will go through Newburyport. The post-race reception for the race has been expanded this year and guests will enjoy live musical entertainment from the Barn Fire band. Amesbury Sports Meeting

Any student interested in participating in sports at Amesbury High School this fall is invited to attend a Parent/Player meeting on June 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Amesbury High School Cafeteria. The meeting will give students an opportunity to meet with coaches and athletic director Glen Gearin, who can answer any questions families might have.

Byfield Day 5K

The Triton cross country program will be holding its 6th annual Byfield Day 5K road race in Byfield Center on Friday, June 20. The proceeds help support the Triton cross-country program and the Miles for Mike Foundation, which is a foundation set up to support local running programs. Tennis

Amesbury Youth Recreation will host a USTA Tennis Play Event Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Amesbury High School tennis courts in a nationwide effort to get kids excited and active in tennis. More than a thousand facilities will host USTA Tennis Play Events this year, each showcasing how fun and easy it now is for families to get into the sport. Summer Maudslay Summer XC Series

The Maudslay Summer XC series races will be held on Thursday evenings from June 19 through Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Maudslay State Park. Races of 1.5 miles and 3 miles of the runner’s choice will be run with a mutual start time of 6:30 p.m. There is no entry fee — all runners will get their finishing time and all finishers under 14 will receive a ribbon. All runners who complete four or more of the eight races will receive a Summer XC Series T-shirt compliments of Greater Boston Running Company. The races are open to all ages and all abilities. Yankee Homecoming Striper Tournament

The 9th Annual Yankee Homecoming Striper Tournament and Barbecue will be held at Ring’s Island Marina in Salisbury on Saturday, June 21, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to everyone and will be held rain or shine. Prizes will be awarded for the three longest stripers caught from land, dock or a boat at sea. All proceeds to benefit the Newburyport Yankee Homecoming Fireworks Display. The winner takes home $500, second place wins $250, third place wins a pair of Red Sox tickets. There will also be raffles for other prizes. Entry fee is $40 per fisherman. Junior fee is $25 per fisherman 15 and under. Each junior entry must be accompanied by an adult. Entry fee includes a free insulated tote bag. Basketball

Registration for 1v1 Sports Training’s Rage Streetball League is now open. Boys and girls from grades 3-8 are invited to either form a team or join as a free agent and be assigned to a team. The league will consist of eight weekly games, weekly practices, and participants will receive a pinni and shorts. The league will run on Saturdays from June 28 to Aug. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there will be six divisions, three each for boys and girls, and the age breakdown will go from 3rd-4th grade, 5th-6th grade and 7th-8th grade. Peak Performance Clinic

The Peak Performance speed, agility and quickness clinic will run from June 23 through Aug. 15 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at Fuller Field in Newburyport. It is a multi-sport speed, agility, quickness and game conditioning clinic for both male and female athletes. The focus is on injury prevention through training techniques. Lifeguard Training

The YWCA will be offering an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course from June 23-27 to participants 15 years of age and older, and an American Red Cross Review Lifeguard Course from June 28-29. The rate for the full lifeguarding course is $300 for members, $350 for non-members, and the review course is $150 for members and $175 for non-members. Flag Football

The Newburyport All Sports Boosters is running a Flag Football camp this summer, June 23-27 (Monday-Friday), 8 a.m. to noon each day at Fuller Field. Bad Dogs of Summer Soccer Training

Local athletes can participate in the Bad Dogs of Summer Soccer Training program from July 9 to Aug. 15. Training will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and registration is $130 per player. Training will be conducted by Newburyport coaching staff and student athlete volunteers, and all proceeds will go to benefit the annual scholarship fund. The 32nd Annual Northeast Quarterback/Receiver Football Clinic will run from July 11-13 and will be held at The Governor’s Academy in Byfield. The cost for the program is $470 to be a resident, $370 to be a day participant and $405 to be an extended-day participant. Field Hockey

The Governor’s Academy will host the 39th annual Northeast Field Hockey Academy, directed by Shannon Hlebichuk, head coach of the UMass Lowell field hockey team. There will be two programs, one running from July 13-16 for girls ages 10-18, and another from July 14-16 for girls ages 8-10. Overnight, extended day and day camp options are available for the older kids, and a half-day option is available for the younger ones. Summer Programs

TLCAMPS will be hosting the Sachem Baseball School in West Newbury and the Newburyport Basketball Academy at Newburyport High School during the month of July. The Sachem Baseball School will run three weeks of clinics for various ages and the Newburyport Basketball Academy will run two separate weeks for specific ages. All five sessions will emphasize the proper fundamentals of the game, team work as well as stress the importance of sportsmanship and learning how to compete in a fun atmosphere. The RIM Sports Complex in Hampton, N.H., will be offering a variety of summer programs this upcoming. The Summer Sports Activities Camp runs from July 7 to Aug. 9 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and costs $89 per week ($55 lunch option available). Registration for the YWCA’s Tween Summer Program is now open. Children from grades 5-7 will enjoy a variety of fitness challenges geared toward enhancing their cardiovascular and muscular systems while targeting core strength and balance.
