Yankee Homecoming Striper Tournament

The 9th Annual Yankee Homecoming Striper Tournament and Barbecue will be held at Ring’s Island Marina in Salisbury on Saturday, June 21, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to everyone and will be held rain or shine. Prizes will be awarded for the three longest stripers caught from land, dock or a boat at sea. All proceeds to benefit the Newburyport Yankee Homecoming Fireworks Display. The winner takes home $500, second place wins $250, third place wins a pair of Red Sox tickets. There will also be raffles for other prizes. Entry fee is $40 per fisherman. Junior fee is $25 per fisherman 15 and under. Each junior entry must be accompanied by an adult. Entry fee includes a free insulated tote bag. Basketball

The Newburyport Girls Basketball Camp run by Gregg Dollas, coaching staff and players will be June 23-26. The deadline for registration is Saturday, June 14. Registration for 1v1 Sports Training’s Rage Streetball League is now open. Boys and girls from grades 3-8 are invited to either form a team or join as a free agent and be assigned to a team. The league will consist of eight weekly games, weekly practices, and participants will receive a pinni and shorts. The league will run on Saturdays from June 28 to Aug. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there will be six divisions, three each for boys and girls, and the age breakdown will go from 3rd-4th grade, 5th-6th grade and 7th-8th grade.
