Cornoni's pitching lifts Triton


Triton 6, Pentucket 2

Nick Cornoni earned the complete-game victory for Triton (4-3). He allowed two earned runs on six hits and recorded three strikeouts. Brad Whitman had three hits and an RBI for the Vikings. Nate Estabrook, Cody Wolcik, Justin Cashman and Jon Seward had two hits and an RBI each.

Hamilton-Wenham 2, Newburyport 1

Brian Fiascone collected an RBI for Newburyport (2-3). Ian Michaels scored the run. Evan Habib pitched a complete game for the Clippers.

Lynnfield 9, Amesbury 0

Devlin Gobeil was 2 for 3 for Amesbury (3-3). Tommy Connors, Mac Short, Adam Ivancic and Pat Scanlon also had hits for Amesbury. Nick Hawrylciw took the loss.


Amesbury 16, IPSwich 0

Rachel Cyr pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts for the Indians (6-0).

Pentucket 3, North Reading 2

Mary Kate Corrado was 2 for 2 with an RBI for Pentucket (1-5). Maddy Ammon also collected an RBI. Carly Desjardins earned the win.

Manchester Essex 5, Pentucket 0

Nicole Downey lost 3-6, 3-6 at first singles for the Sachems (0-4).

Triton 5, Newburyport 0

Kaley Towns, Alexa Bryant and Anastasia Small won their singles matches for Triton (1-5). Erin MacIsaac and Laurel White won at first doubles. Clare Delaney and Eliza Mullen won at second doubles.

Boys Tennis

Manchester Essex 4, Pentucket 1

Danny Ryan and Adam Chory won their first doubles match for Pentucket (1-3).

Triton 4, Newburyport 1

Andrew McGrath (4-6, 6-2, 6-4) and Travis Mihalchik (6-0, 6-3) won singles matches for Triton (2-4). Henryk Jankowski and Matt Faulkner won at first singles (6-4, 6-3). Devon Shuman and Nico Marcolini won at second doubles (6-1, 6-1). Newburyport’s Chris Kirkpatrick collected the victory (6-0, 6-1) at first singles.

Boys Tennis

Lynnfield 3, Amesbury 2

Matt Bellino (6-4, 4-6, 6-4) and Grant Bellino (6-0, 6-2) collected singles victories for Amesbury.

Girls Lacrosse

Beverly 10, Newburyport 9

The Clippers dropped to 4-3 with the loss.

Boys Track

Newburyport 83 1/3, Hamilton-Wenham 61 2/3

Dan Holbrook, Alex Reduker and Tom Graham won two events each for Newburyport. Holbrook won the long jump (18-10) and triple jump (39-5 1/2). Reduker won the high jump (5-6) and pole vault (8-6). Graham won the 100 (11.6) and 200 (23.3). Andrew Beaupre (shot put, 38-5), Cyrus Woodman (discus, 104-0), Nick Carleo (2-mile, 9:50), Joe Santo (mile, 4:39) and Sawyer Updike (800, 2:03) also won events for the Clippers.

Girls Track

Hamilton-Wenham 101, Newburyport 44

Lily Eagan (400-meter hurdles, 1:08.2) and Kristen Mackie (800, 2:37) won individual events for the Clippers. The 4x400 relay team of Erin Carroll, Rachel Haley, Juliet Stevenson and Deayne Turi also placed first (4:51.9).
