Running

The Newburyport PTO is inviting all runners, walkers, friends, students and alumni to kick off the season with the “Spring Fever 5K and Family Fun Run” to celebrate the final days of Newburyport’s Bresnahan Elementary School. The race will begin and end at the school and follow a route that takes runners down along the waterfront. The race will take place on Sunday, May 4, with the kids Fun Run starting at noon and the 5K starting at 1 p.m. The Fun Run is open to kids aged Pre K to 3rd grade, and the 5K is open to all ages. Registration for the 5K is $25 if preregistered by April 30 and $30 on the day of the race, and the Fun Run is $5 per child, $10 per family. Proceeds for the race will go to the Brown, Bresnahan and Molin Elementary Schools and support PTO sponsored activities like the science fair, field trips and cultural awareness programs.

Basketball

Community Hoops is hosting a former professional basketball player, David Nurse, to run a clinic at Cashman park on Wednesday May 7th from 4-6:30pm. The cost is $50 if you sign up before May 1st. Please have anyone email us at info@communityhoops.net to learn more about registration.

The Newburyport Girls Basketball Summer Clinic run by Newburyport High School coach Gregg Dollas, high school basketball staff and players will be offered for students entering grades 2-9. The clinic will run from Monday, June 23, to Thursday, June 26, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newburyport High School. For registration forms and more information, visit: http://freeteams.com/NGBA/.

The Triton Boys Basketball Clinic will run from July 14-17 from 9:30 to 1:30 at Triton Regional High School. Players will have an opportunity to experience the growing tradition of Triton basketball and benefit from one-on-one interaction from the team’s players and staff. Enrollment is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
