After starting the year 0-3, the Triton boys lacrosse team has spun off four wins in a row to get above .500 for the first time this season. Larry Cuddy led the way for Triton with 8 points, including 5 goals and 3 assists. Jack Killion added 3 goals, Justin Spillane had 1 goal and 3 assists, and goalkeeper Nolan Smith had 19 saves. Triton got stronger as the game went along, leading 4-1 at halftime before scoring six times in the third quarter to effectively put the game away. Triton will be back in action this Friday when the Vikings take on Ipswich at home starting at 10 a.m.

The Triton boys track team picked up a huge win over Newburyport yesterday afternoon, edging out the Clippers 74-69 on an afternoon where both team’s rosters were depleted due to kids being away for April vacation. The top finishers for Triton included Brandon Amello, who won the 400 hurdles (65.5) and the 110 hurdles (19.2); Mark Theberge, who won the shot put (41-10); Max Luttenbacher, who won the discus (134-10); Austin Stevens, who won the pole vault (12-6) and placed second in the triple jump; Cam Atherton, who won the 200 (24.6) and took second in the 100; the 4x100 relay team of Luis Fernandez, Eric Rybicki, Andrew Perilli and Austin Clark, who won with a time of 48.2; and the 4x400 relay team of Nick Amello, Chris Barry, Stevens and Ryan Atherton, who took first at 3:53. Other placers for Triton included Ryan Kent (2nd in 400 hurdles, 3rd in 800); Nick Amello (2nd in long jump, 2nd in 400, 3rd in triple jump); Fernandez (2nd in high jump, 3rd in 200); Branden Tardungo (2nd in shot put); Brett Greenberg (2nd in javelin); Drew Lapham (2nd in 110 hurdles); Ronan Callewaert (3rd in 400 hurdles) and Ryan Atherton (3rd in 400).
