Tournament Pairings

Newburyport (15-1) has earned the No. 1 overall seed in the Division III North boys lacrosse tournament and will receive a bye to the second round. Pentucket (12-5) was selected as the No. 4 seed and will also receive a bye. Triton (10-8) earned the No. 8 seed and will open the tournament against No. 9 Austin Prep (11-7) at home next Wednesday at 4 p.m., while Georgetown (7-11) got the No. 10 seed and will open against No. 7 Whittier (14-6) on the road next Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The winner of the Triton vs. Austin Prep game could go on to face Newburyport at Newburyport High School, the winner of the Whittier vs. Georgetown game will face No. 2 Hamilton-Wenham (11-5) at Hamilton-Wenham, and Pentucket will open its tournament in the quarter final against No. 5 North Reading (13-7). All three of those games will be played on May 31 at 2 p.m.

All-League Selections

The following individuals have been named to the Cape Ann League’s All-League team for 2014. From Newburyport, Drew Bourdeau, Dillon Guthro and Matt Kelleher; from Triton, Larry Cuddy and Dalton Tzitzon; from Georgetown, Jackson Fritz; from Pentucket, Jeff Porter; from Hamilton Wenham, Matt Curran, Jimmy Littlefield and Grant Thompson; from Ipswich, Jamie Iwanicki; nd from Masconomet, Harry Cwik, Kevin Gilbert, Cam Jung and Aiden Sears.

In addition, the following have been named Cape Ann League All-Stars. From Newburyport, JJ Bajko and Michael Shay; from Pentucket, Sam Colombo, Kyle Richardson and Josh Wesolowski; from Triton, Nolan Smith and Justin Spillane; from Georgetown, Nick Depasquale and Jared Warren; from Hamilton-Wenham, Christian Ecker, Cameron Macri and Alex Rogers; from Ipswich, Eddie Flaherty, Vinnie Martineau and Jeff Statile; from Lynnfield, Dan Sullivan; from Manchester Essex, Alex Talefero; from Masconomet, Max Craig, Johnathan Schiff and Corey Tines; from North Reading, Will Brown, Tom Lewis, Sean McGreal, Nick Ponte and Tim Russell; and from Saugus, Ben Martin, Chris Sanderson and Nick Vokey.
