Newburyport (15-1) has earned the No. 1 overall seed in the Division III North boys lacrosse tournament and will receive a bye to the second round. Pentucket (12-5) was selected as the No. 4 seed and will also receive a bye. Triton (10-8) earned the No. 8 seed and will open the tournament against No. 9 Austin Prep (11-7) at home next Wednesday at 4 p.m., while Georgetown (7-11) got the No. 10 seed and will open against No. 7 Whittier (14-6) on the road next Wednesday at 5 p.m.
The winner of the Triton vs. Austin Prep game could go on to face Newburyport at Newburyport High School, the winner of the Whittier vs. Georgetown game will face No. 2 Hamilton-Wenham (11-5) at Hamilton-Wenham, and Pentucket will open its tournament in the quarter final against No. 5 North Reading (13-7). All three of those games will be played on May 31 at 2 p.m.
