Georgetown can also count on solid production from third baseman Kyle Nelson, who hit .350 with 20 RBIs and nine doubles, and also from catcher Dan Manning, who hit .330 and is reportedly going to go on to play baseball at Mass Maritime.
If Georgetown can beat Lowell Catholic, the Royals would advance to the state semifinals, where they would face the south regional champion at a time and place to be determined.
“We have great practices and we’ll just keep working hard,” Spurr said. “This group really likes each other and they play well for each other, and that’s really what it’s all about.”
The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. this afternoon.
