Amesbury Little League advances to District 15 Final Four

The Amesbury Little League 11- and 12-year-old all-star team is one of only four teams remaining in the District 15 Williamsport Tournament after posting an 8-1 victory over Middleton last night at Harry Ball Field in Beverly.

Amesbury pitcher Shane O’Leary cruised to the victory, logging 5 1/3 innings before hitting his pitch limit. He struck out nine and allowed one run. At the plate, O’Leary had four RBI. His three-run triple in the fourth inning broke the game open.

Dane Webber had two hits and scored two runs. Derek Beaupre also had two hits.

Amesbury will face the winner of tonight’s matchup between Manchester Essex and Danvers American tomorrow night in Beverly. The District 15 champion will be decided by Saturday at the latest.
