Newburyport Youth Hockey is continuing to accept registrations for its Learn to Skate. The program is open to boys and girls from ages of 3 to 9 and runs 20 weeks starting Sunday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. Register before class at 9:30 or online at www.NYHL.org. The 23rd annual Winner’s Circle Running Club Wild Turkey Trot 3.1 Mile Cross-Country Run/Walk will be run Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m. at the Pipestave Hill/Mill Pond Recreation Area. Race proceeds to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy and the charitable activities and youth and adult running program of the WCRC. The 24th annual Maudslay 5K Turkey Trot will take place at 8:20 a.m. Nov. 22 at Newburyport’s Maudslay State Park. All race profits will go to local charities, such as the Pettengil House and Opportunity Workshop. Last year, this race generated over $10,000 for the local charities.
