Newburyport softball wins 5th in 6 games

Softball

Newburyport 9, Rockport 3

Kendra Dow led Newburyport (8-4) to its third win in a row by going 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBI. Carly Siemasko was also 3 for 4. Meghan Stanton had a double, single and two RBI.

Boys Lacrosse

Pentucket 11, Methuen 2

The Sachems improved to 9-4 with the victory. They have won seven of their last eight games. Calvin Wiles had three goals and two assists for Pentucket. Sam Colombo added three goals and an assist. Cody Rothwell had two goals and two assists.

Girls Lacrosse

Danvers 15, Pentucket 10

Tori Spofford had five goals and an assist for Pentucket (5-6). Sarah Wiles added three goals. Sam Fiore and Jackie Brennan scored one goal each. Goalie Tori Ruggerio made 13 saves.

Masconomet 20, Georgetown 9

Marisa Agganis led Georgetown (5-8) with three goals and an assist. Grace Ann Conte and Chelsea Burke tallied two goals and an assist each. Kathryn Gibb had a goal and an assist. Madeline Cannon scored a goal.

Newburyport 16, Lynnfield 5

Meri Adsit scored four goals for Newburyport (8-4). Ali Peffer and Kate McCauley scored three goals each. Julia Kill and Olivia Kearney added two each. Abi Moore and Kelly Conway added a goal each.

14U Baseball

Newburyport 11, Woburn 5

Jake Valcich led the Clippers to victory with a strong game at the plate and on the mound. Valcich had three hits and an RBI. On the mound, he struck out seven batters and threw first-pitch strikes to 22 out of 24 batters. Noah Van Schalkwyk pitched in relief. Brian Hadden had two hits and three RBI. Erik March had two hits and an RBI. Quin Stott had a double and two RBI. Jonathan Jalajas and Joel Skaff all contributed with hits. George Troupe had an RBI.

Woburn 10, Newburyport 9

Erik March had an impressive outing pitching, giving up only one earned run and striking out seven of the 12 batters he faced. George Troupe, Joel Skaff and Jonathan Jalajas pitched in relief. Valcich had four hits and two RBI, Brian Hadden had three hits, including a double and an RBI. March and Jalajas each had two hits and an RBI. Max Leonard and Myles Maloof contributed with hits. Tommy Furlong had an RBI.
