The Clippers (10-4) picked up their fifth win in a row, clinching a state-tournament berth. Lea Tomasz had a triple and a double. Sophie O’Brien had two doubles.

Amesbury 5, Georgetown 0

Carolina Merrill pitched her third shutout in a row for the Indians (13-1). She allowed five hits and one walk, while recording five strikeouts. Amanda Schell had two hits, and Autumn Kligerman had an RBI double.

Pentucket 6, Triton 5 (8 innings)

Tyler Feeney was 3 for 4 with a run scored for Pentucket (3-11). Megan Haley was 1 for 3 with a triple. Cassidy Kennefick (1 for 4) collected two RBI. For Triton (7-6), Maura Spears and Kelsy Trudell had two hits each.

Boys Tennis

Lynnfield 3, Triton 2

Andrew McGrath won a third singles match (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) for Triton (4-7). Nico Marcolini and Devon Shuman won a doubles match (6-4, 6-4).

Girls Tennis

Masconomet 4, Pentucket 1

Coli Downey won 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 at first singles for Pentucket (4-7).

Girls Lacrosse

Newburyport 20, Swampscott 9

Julia Kipp scored six goals in a game that clinched a tournament berth for the Clippers (9-5). Ali Peffer added five goals. Kate McCauley (3 goals), Meri Adsit (2 goals), Brenna Williams (2 goals), Morgan Timmerman (1 goal) and Olivia Kearney (1 goal) also factored in the scoring.
