Fitzgerald goes 3-4 in Amesbury win

Baseball

Amesbury 8, Manchester Essex 5

Nick Hawrylciw collected his third win in a row for the Indians (8-8). He allowed six hits, one walk and struck out six on 91 pitches. Zack Fitzgerald was 3 for 4 with three RBI and a run scored. Mac Short was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run. Devlin Gobeil was 2 for 4 with a run. Shawn Bannon was 1 for 4 with a run. Tommy Connors was 1 for 4 with two RBI and two runs.

North Reading 9, Pentucket 4

Josh Creamer was 2 for 4 for Pentucket (5-9). Bobby Hallowell was 2 for 3 with a run and two RBI.

Georgetown 3, Lynnfield 2

Patrick Slack earned the win for Georgetown (11-5). He allowed two earned runs on four hits in five innings. He struck out two. Dave Ingraham pitched two perfect innings to record his second save of the week. Tom Pingree and Slack were both 2 for 3 with a run. Dave Manning was 2 for 3 with two RBI. Centerfielder Mike Goddu made a diving catch.

Boys Tennis

Triton 4, Haverhill 1

Travis Mihalchik (6-1, 6-1), John DiDonato (6-0, 6-1) and Andrew McGrath (6-0, 6-0) won singles matches for Triton (5-7). Devon Shuman and Nico Marolini won at doubles (6-1, 6-1).

Boys Lacrosse

Georgetown 10, Manchester Essex 3

Neil Murphy led the Royals (8-8) with two goals and an assist. Alex Brannon and Zack Graham scored two goals each. Nick DePasquale had a goal and three assists. Jared Warren added a goal and two assists. Scott Perry tallied a goal and an assist. Zach Switzer scored a goal. JoJo Mangano made nine saves.

Softball

Amesbury 9, Rockport 1

Amesbury (14-1) scored seven runs in the fourth inning. Rachel Cyr had a two-run double. Amanda Schell was 3 for 3 with an RBI. Ashley Valme had three hits and three RBI. Erin Leary had three RBI. Cyr earned the complete-game victory. She struck out seven.

Girls Lacrosse

Haverhill 17, Pentucket 16

Sarah Wiles had five goals and an assist for Pentucket. Jackie Brennan added four goals. Sam Fiore (3 goals, 1 assist), Tori Spofford (3 goals) and Cammie Ballentine (1 goal, 1 assist) also factored in the scoring. Tori Ruggerio made 13 saves.
