Amesbury 52, Triton 33
Nick Fiorella (hurdles), Doug Masi (dash), Jim Stone (2-mile), John Ellen (1,000), Ben Cullen (high jump) and Perry Mroz (shot put) won individual events for Amesbury (1-0).
“This was a good way to start off the season against a well-coached Triton team,” Amesbury coach Ernie Bissaillon said.
For Triton, Jake Eaton (300) and Dmitri Hunt (600) posted victories in individual events. The 4x400 relay team of Eaton, Hunt, Brandon Duford and Matt Anderson also placed first.
Girls Indoor Track
Triton 47, Amesbury 38
Kerstin Darsney placed first in the hurdles and high jump for Triton in its opener. Kelsie Ferris (dash), Liz Willmonton (2-mile), Laura Frackiewicz (600) and Triton’s 4x400 relay of Darsney, Frackiewicz, Ferris and Bridget Moran also placed first.
“I couldn’t be happier with the result,” Triton coach Joe Colbert said. “We have a great mix of veteran juniors and seniors and younger, talented kids that contributed. Amesbury is pretty strong. To compete that way in our first meet gives me a lot of optimism for the upcoming season.”
Alexis Boswell (300), Natalie Dawes (1,000), Julia Shorter (mile) and Marissa Randall (shot put) won individual events for the Indians (0-1).
Triton 49, Ipswich 40
Zak Alaoui led Triton to an opening-night victory with 19 points. Paul Dacy added 12 points and seven assists. Travis Kneeland paced Triton with 11 rebounds and six blocks.
Saugus 38, Triton 13
Kaitlyn Muldowney had four points and six rebounds for Triton (0-1). Harley Wood added four points.
