This first Ladies Night Out 5K will take place Dec. 15 at Nicholson Hall in Newburyport with registration beginning at 1:30 p.m. and a race start time of 3 p.m. Post race festivities will be held inside the hall. Registration costs $60 before December 14 or $65 on race day. The first 300 ladies to register will receive a free embroidered pullover (a $25 value). All racers will receive an 8-ounce custom wine glass.
The Frosty Knuckle 5K will be Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. at the Hobo Cafe in Salisbury Beach. The registration closing date on Active.com will be Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. The cost is $20 pre-registration or $25 on race day.
The Winner’s Circle Running Club Boston Training Run Series starts Dec. 16. Eight runs of increasing distances will be held at two-week intervals, spanning the Boston training time frame. To make sure you don’t get bored, each run will be hosted by different WCRC members at different locations. All WCRC members are invited to participate, whether or not you are running Boston. Shorter courses will also be designed for each session for those not interested in marathon distances. The first training run of 10-12 miles (December 16) will be in York, Maine. Hosts are needed for Jan. 13, Jan. 27, Feb. 10, Feb. 24, March 10 and March 22. Check www.runthecircle.org on the “Running” tab for information. The Winner’s Circle Running Club’s New Year’s Day Classic (a.k.a. Hangover Classic) 10K and 5K Road Races will be run Jan. 1 at the Carousel Lounge at Salisbury Beach. Proceeds to benefit the charitable activities and youth and adult running programs of the Winner’s Circle Running Club.
