Triton boys tennis sweeps Haverhill for first win of season

Triton 5, Haverhill 0

The Triton boys tennis team swept Haverhill in its first meet of the season, knocking off the Hillies 5-0 to claim its first win of 2014.

Travis Mihalchick won the first singles match 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in what coach Rich Dube called the match of the day. John DiDonato followed up by winning his match 6-2, 6-1, and then Andrew McGrath won the third singles match 6-4, 6-2.

In the doubles matches, the team of Devon Shuman and Nico Marcolini won their match 6-1, 6-2, and then Eric Ninthala and Jon Kovach won theirs 6-1, 6-1.

Triton’s next match will come against Ipswich tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
