NHS Baseball Alumni Golf Tournament
The third annual Newburyport High School Baseball Alumni Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 20, at 12:30 p.m. at Ould Newbury Golf Club. The tournament is open to all, and the entry fee is $100, though entrants can also secure a sponsor and play for $75. This year’s tournament is being played in memory of board member John Notargiacomo (NHS, ’75), who passed away earlier this year. NHS Boosters Fundraiser
Oregano Pizzeria and Ristorante has offered to donate a percentage of all proceeds from Wednesday, April 9, toward the Newburyport High School Boosters. Starting at 7 p.m., the Boosters will hold a live auction at the restaurant for a baseball signed by David Ortiz. If you can’t make it out for dinner that night, the proceeds from takeout will count too.
Registration is open for the Amesbury Girls Youth Softball League spring season. This program is open for all girls in grades 3-8 who are residents of Amesbury and South Hampton. Amesbury Little League registration is now open. There are five divisions: T-Ball (age 5); Single-A: Instructional baseball with coaches pitching (ages 6-7); Double-A: Instructional baseball with youth pitchers (age 8); Triple-A: Competitive baseball with youth pitchers (ages 9-10); and the Majors (ages 11-12). The registration fee is $90 per child for A through Majors; T-Ball is $45 per child. Family maximum is $180. Parent volunteers are needed for coaching, fundraising and league operations. The Salisbury Parks and Recreation Commission is holding its The Tortoise and Hare 10K Race on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Lions Park in Salisbury. The race also features a Kids Fun Run, a Kids 1-mile race prior to the start of the race and a 3-Mile walk that will start as soon as the runners are jogging down the Ghost Trail. The post-race includes music, popcorn, kids games and a fun run for children. To register, go to active.com.
