PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tyler Lay, Amesbury, junior, quarterback

After starting the season 1-5, the Amesbury Indians have suddenly found their groove. With Friday's 30-7 dismantling of CAL Small foe, the North Reading Hornets, the Indians are now currently riding a three game-winning streak and are heading into Newburyport on Thanksgiving with a head full of steam.

Indian quarterback Tyler Lay ran the show in the victory over the Hornets. In the air, Lay was five for 12 passing with 147 yards and two touchdowns; on the ground, he rushed 11 times for 23 yards and a score.

Also worth mentioning is Amesbury senior halfback Jake Conant, who accrued 98 total yards of offense in the win. Conant rushed seven times for 36 yards, and ran 62 yards for a touchdown on his only reception of the game.
