The Sachems survive poor play to get a victory over Ipswich to improve their record to 8-3 and their win steak to seven. McKenna Kilian led the way offensively with 14 points, while Kelsi McNamara finished with 10 points.
“Ipswich outplayed us and deserved the win,” head coach John McNamara said. “We had as many turnovers as we did rebounds.”
Pentucket will look to add to their win streak with better play when they take on Manchester-Essex on Monday.
Newburyport 45 Georgetown 27
The Clippers fought their way back into the win column with a strong effort against Georgetown. Emily Pettigrew had a great day with 17 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Mary Pettigrew also came up big, scoring nine points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Jaycie Triandafilou also contributed with a strong defensive performance, recording six steals and two assists.

The Sachems improved to 5-6 with a victory against Ipswich. They will next travel to Manchester-Essex on Monday in what promises to be a tough game against a strong 7-2 team that leads the Baker Division.
