Newburyport struggles to score goals in Lynnfield tie

The Clippers (6-5-1) received a goal from Travis Wile on assists from Ben Ventura and Ben Mirageas. Newburyport outshot Lynnfield 38-12.

“We had more than our share of point-blank opportunities, we just didn’t bury them,” Newburyport coach Paul Yameen said.

Brayden Carney and John Orlando scored goals for Pentucket. Logan Sherwood and Peter Bovio had assists. Anthony Orlando made 21 saves.

Triton’s Luke Boyle (145 lbs.) pinned returning Division 1 North Sectional finalist Dan Cassidy of Billerica, and outlasted Beverly’s Joe Kozlowski, another top wrestler at 145 lbs. Junior Josh Misiano overcame a second-period deficit against Billerica to record a pin for the Vikings (17-5). Senior captain Tom Howell won an overtime match against Beverly.

Against Billerica, Luke Boyle (145 lbs., 3:29), John Boyle (152 lbs., 0:17), Howell (160 lbs., 1:17), Misiano (126 lbs., 5:08), Jake Durkin (132 lbs., 1:25) and Cody Nixon (138 lbs., 0:49) won by pin. Charlie Frauenfelder (195 lbs.) won by forfeit.

Against Beverly, Mark Boyle (195 lbs., 1:12), Frauenfelder (220 lbs., 3:35), Alec Moffat (285 lbs., 0:35), Durkin (132 lbs., 1:12), Nixon (138 lbs., 0:52) recorded pins. John Boyle (152 lbs., 10-5), Howell (160 lbs., 9-4) and Luke Boyle (145 lbs., 5-4) won by decision.

Senior captain Mike Gallanar went 3-0 for the Royals (10-6-1). Constantine Galanis also went 3-0 to improve to 29-6 on the season. Josiah Krason, Dave Collins, Carsten LaPlante, Tom Mulligan, Mark Mansfield, Charlie Koshivas, Matt Carey and Derek Chamberlain also won matches for the Royals.
