The Newburyport Basketball Academy will be running two separate basketball clinics this season for boys in first- to eighth grade. The first clinic will start Nov. 5 and run five consecutive Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Newburyport High for boys in the fifth- through eighth grade. The second clinic will run on Sundays starting Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newburyport High for boys in first- to eighth-grade. The Howling Mile dog race will take place Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. at Newburyport’s Cashman Park. The dog will have the timing chip, and the dog owner will be running with the dog. After the race there will be a dog carnival hosted by the Clipper City Canines organization.
