Snyder deal leaves Youkilis as Boston's only arbitration-eligible

BOSTON - Red Sox reliever Kyle Snyder agreed to a one-year contract for $835,000 yesterday, leaving first baseman Kevin Youkilis as Boston's only player eligible for salary arbitration.

Snyder, who made $535,000 last year, had asked for $1,025,000, while the team offered $725,000. The right-hander would get an additional $5,000 if he makes 50 appearances and $10,000 more for 60 games.

Snyder had a 2-3 record and a career-low 3.81 ERA in 46 games for the Red Sox last year. They acquired him on waivers from Kansas City in June 2006.

Youkilis, who made $424,500 last year, has asked for $3.7 million. The team has offered $2,525,000.
