Crowther's record day lifts Newburyport


Newburyport 164, Amesbury 163

Brendan Crowther had a school-record 40 points for Newburyport. Travis Koocher added 34. Kyle Bushnell and Ben Ventura added 28 each. Amesbury’s Anthony Calvani (30 points), Jack Cashman (27), Patrick Halloran (27), Anthony Tomkiewicz (27), Paddy Flahardy (26) and Sam Burnham (26) kept things close. Griffin Brown (18) and Bryce Cahill (16) clinched the victory for the Clippers.

Triton 158, Lynnfield 127

Jon Seward shot an even-par 36 for Triton at Ould Newbury. Kyle Hillick added 29. Adam Chatterton (27) and Brett Greenberg (24) also had top scores.

Field Hockey

Newburyport 2, Saugus 2

Senior Emma Bartol and freshman Meagan Bragole scored goals for the Clippers. Meghan Stanton had an assist. The Clippers outshot Saugus 16-4, and had 18 penalty corners.

Masconomet 2, Triton 0

The Vikings kept things close one year after losing to Masconomet 11-0.

Girls Soccer

Triton 6, Saugus 0

Teresa Benoit, Shannon Dube and Morgan Snow scored two goals each for Triton. Keeper Christine Ciccone shut out the Sachems. Rylee Culverwell was Triton’s top player, according to coach Mike Weisberg.
