Amesbury's Shorter breaks course record

Triton 26, Amesbury 40

Triton’s Liz Willmonton (2nd, 19:25), Maddie Quigley (3rd, 19:29), Ceili Riccio (6th, 21:20), Audrey Martin (7th, 21:22), Nicole Sullivan (8th, 21:26) and Sydney Rybicki (10th, 22:32) led the team to victory. Amesbury’s Julia Shorter broke the course record at Woodsom Farm in 18:24. Samantha Stone (4th, 20:39), Hailee Gibadlo (5th, 21:04), Emily Pugh (9th, 21:55) and Morgan Fahey (11th, 22:40) rounded out the scoring for Amesbury (1-3).

Newburyport 23, North Reading 38

Kristen Mackie (2nd, 20:39), Kelly Conway (3rd, 20:50), Rachel Haley (5th, 20:54), Lily Eagan (6th, 21:17) and Olivia Kearney (7th, 21:27) factored in the scoring for Newburyport (3-1).

Pentucket 24, Lynnfield 35

Kasey Mann placed second overall in 21:22. Kelsi McNamara (3rd, 21:27), Brianna Repke (4th, 22:41), Sophie Capobianco (7th, 23:45) and Sarah Thurlow (8th, 24:13) rounded out the scoring for Pentucket (4-0).

Saugus 1, Amesbury 0

For Amesbury (2-4), Audra Tamurello and Amanda Schell played well.

Pentucket 0, North Reading 0

Liza Brackbill and Mary Kate Corrado played well for the Sachems (0-2-3).

Newburyport 2, Triton 0

Mary Pettigrew had a goal and an assist for Newburyport (3-1-1). Carley Siemasko also scored a goal. Marie Cahalane had an assist. Lauren Singer and Megan DeSautelis combined on the shutout.

Governor’s Academy 1, Phillips Exeter 0

Govs senior Sarah Dupere, of Amesbury, scored the game-winner on an assist from Cassie Hanlon.


Triton 129, Marblehead 128

Jon Seward and Brett Greenberg had 23 points each for Triton (5-2). Brad Small and Jake Aponas added 22 each.

Amesbury 149, Masconomet 112

Fred Halloran (27 points), Anthony Tomkiewicz (27), Paddy Flahardy (26), Patrick Halloran (26) and Brendan Foley (23) factored in the scoring for Amesbury (4-2).

Pentucket 137, Saugus 136

Pentucket’s Krystal Knight shot a 2-under par 33 for 41 points. Danny Beaton was 1-over par for 35 points. John Sirois (17 points) and Brandon Daniels (16) chipped in for the Sachems (1-4).

North Reading 157, Newburyport 151

Brendan Crowther led Newburyport (4-1) with 31 points. Travis Koocher (25), Ben Ventura (25), Griffin Brown (25) and Steve Simkins (21) eclipsed the 20-point mark for the Clippers.

Boys Cross-Country

Newburyport 17, North Reading 45

Nick Carleo (1st, 14:59), Chris Orlando (2nd, 16:28), Joe Molvar (3rd, 16:29), Max Vye (5th, 16:54), Tyler Newfell (6th, 17:08) and Josh Molvar (7th, 17:11) rounded out Newburyport’s scoring.

Amesbury 21, Triton 36

Amesbury’s Riley O’Connor won the race in 17:19. Liam Gallagher (2nd, 17:23), Jimmy Stone (5th, 17:51) and Patrick McCue (6th, 17:58) lifted the Indians (2-2) to victory. Triton’s Austin Stevens (3rd, 17:31), Dan Horgan (4th, 17:36), Ryan Sheedy (8th, 18:09), Ryan Kent (10th, 18:28) and Curran Callewaert (11th, 18:36) finished in the top five for the team.

Pentucket 17, Lynnfield 44

Alex Demeule (1st, 17:34), Drew Capener (1st, 17:34), Sam Copolla (3rd, 17:52), Josh Wildes (5th, 18:38) and Nate Hey (6th, 18:51) helped keep Pentucket (4-0) undefeated.

Boys Soccer

Georgetown 8, Amesbury 1

Jared Warren had three goals and an assist for Georgetown. Will Soucy had two goals and an assist. Justin MacRae added a goal and two assists. Ben Denoncour and Alex Bornholdt also scored goals. Tim Quinn had two assists. Brian Savage and Chris Chiklakis added one each.
