THE FIRST YANKEE TRUCK AND CAR EXHIBITION

Yankee Homecomings first attempt at a mixed bag exhibition should prove to be enjoyable for people of all ages.  A group of volunteers have put together an excellent showing of all types of extreme transportation.  This show will be a static display of tractor trailers, trucks, jeeps, cars, motorcycles and whatever else may come up.  There will also be several car, truck and bike vendors on hand to show their latest vehicle accessories and products.  This event will be free to the viewing public although at our greeting booth and vendors we will have buckets available for donations that will go directly to funding the fireworks display.   There is plenty of spectator parking available due to the generosity of the local businesses surrounding the event and allowing us to use their parking lots.  For more information please contact Jeff at 603-235-0336 or visit our website at yankeehomecoming.com

HISTORIC TOUR OF ST. PAUL’S CHURCH

166 High Street

Tours are offered of St. Paul’s Church, founded in 1711 and the oldest continuing Episcopal Parish in Massachusetts. The tour includes the main church building and sanctuary, Paul Revere bell, the graveyard with stones dating from 1732 and historic St. Ann’s Chapel, unchanged since it was built in 1863. Please meet in front of the Church doors. Tours last 45-50 minutes and are on the half-hour.

Provided by Opportunity Works, a workshop for developmentally disabled adults.  This non-profit organization donates their time to support Yankee Homecoming.

All proceeds from the Opportunity Works Food Booth are used to help fund the Yankee Homecoming Events which are free to the public.

Wayne from Maine.

For over a decade, Wayne from Maine has been performing and recording music for children. The Wayne from Maine show is a 50-minute adventure through various musical styles designed for the young and young at heart. Volunteers are invited up on stage to play various percussive instruments or sing into a wireless microphone. There’s never a dull moment.

The Teddy Bear Parade

Join Dick Kaplan & The Dixieland Band as they march the entrants with their bears in front of the stage.

Stop by and register at the Teddy Bear Booth.  Fee: $1.00.  All ages compete for prizes and ribbons.  Each entrant will receive a goody bag with great treats and raffle tickets for prizes.  There are various categories including: Princess Bear, Sports Bear, Animated Movie Bear, Bear on Wheels, Most Huggable Bear.  A “Beary Good Time” for the whole family!

YANKEE HOMECOMING PARADE
High Street

Beginning at Three Roads continuing down High Street to Marlboro Street . Newburyport is sure to be lined with spectators for the 50th annual Yankee Homecoming Parade. Fire Engines will start at 12:30 followed by the Grand Marshal, General Chairman. This year we are lucky enough to have a lot of marching bands in the parade along with many floats, cars, veteran units, police etc. Lots of fun for the entire family. Be sure to arrive early and have fun! Donations will be collected to support the Jimmy Fund, a Yankee Homecoming Tradition!
