NEWBURYPORT – Beach Plum Flower Shop is celebrating its 30th year in business with a three-day birthday party for customers from Thursday through Saturday.

The store will offer visitors chances to win prizes and receive discounts, participate in contests, check out the garden bar and watch floral design demonstrations.

Birthday cake from Buttermilk Bakery, Beach Plum Ice Cream from Harbor Creamery and other treats will be served. A percentage of all weekend sales will be donated to the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center, a local organization providing support for families affected by domestic violence.

“We are so thankful for the ongoing support of the Newburyport community that has helped our flower shop continue to grow and bloom, and we wanted to mark this occasion and express our gratitude with this festive birthday party celebration,” said Pat Cannon, owner of Beach Plum Flower Shop, in a press release.

In 1989, Beach Plum Flower Shop started in the Black Duck location at the Tannery Marketplace and later expanded to a larger shop at its current location. The store offers customized floral design, exotic and traditional flowers, floral arrangements, plants and garden gifts.

“I never could have imagined how much Beach Plum Flower Shop has evolved over the past three decades,” said Maureen Condon, the store’s original owner.

“It’s been a pleasure to watch the business build a team of such talented designers while maintaining its focus on creating a positive customer experience,” she said.
