NEWBURYPORT – Newburyport Bank recently donated $10,000 to a variety of nonprofits and charitable events in Greater Newburyport and southern New Hampshire.
The bank donated $1,000 to Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill to benefit the college’s 15th annual Signature Fundraising Event to be held Sept. 21 at the Collins Center in Andover. The event will feature EagleMania, an Eagles tribute band.
In a press release, Lloyd L. Hamm Jr., the bank’s president and CEO, said, “As an accessible community college, Northern Essex is doing valuable work – providing a welcoming environment of teaching and learning. We heartily support their fundraising efforts, and are proud to contribute in some way to their dedication of educating and inspiring their students.”
The bank also continued its support of the Custom House Maritime Museum with a $1,000 donation to cover its ongoing membership. The bank also donated to the following:
$500 to The Cochecho Challenge Half Marathon, an annual fundraiser of First Parish Congregational Church of Dover, New Hampshire. The race benefits the Dover Food Pantry, End 68 Hours of Hunger, Dover’s Friendly Kitchen, the Cochecho Valley Humane Society, Alcoholics Anonymous as well as many other nonprofit organizations.
$3,000 to the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce of Hampton in support of its first annual Beach Day for Senior Citizens.
$2,500 to Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for the 2019 season.
$2,000 to SEED, a nonprofit in Dover, N.H. SEED awards grants to Dover public school teachers for innovative programs, practices and resources.
