Antonio Vivaldi’s “Magnificat” is at the center of Cantemus’ annual holiday concert, “Star-Made Shadows,” which comes to Newburyport this Sunday at 4 p.m.

The performance is at a new venue this year, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 166 High St.

An ensemble of strings and oboes will accompany the chorus, which will also present works by Ola Gjeilo and Morten Lauridsen.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and free for students 21 and younger, available at www.cantemus.org or at the door.

Festive fun

After this Saturday’s parade and tree lighting, the seasonal celebrating continues in downtown Amesbury next weekend, Dec. 14 and 15.

Winterfest Weekend is set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Family-friendly activities will include checking out and voting in the window-decorating contest, visits with Santa Claus, carolers, ice sculptures, horse-drawn carriage rides, a hot cocoa bar, and more.

Free screenings of “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas” and “The Santa Clause” will start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Stage Two Cinema Pub.

Mo’ merriment

Ring in the holidays with Keb’ Mo’ and his Jingle Bell Jamboree, which comes to Blue Ocean Music Hall at Salisbury Beach next Thursday, Dec. 12, at 8 p.m.

The Grammy Award-winning blues and Americana musician, whose real name is Kevin Moore, will entertain with tunes from his first holiday album, “Moonlight, Mistletoe & You.”

Tickets start at $83. R&B and soul artist Alicia Michilli will also perform.
